The University of Wales Press, in partnership with the Wales Centre for Equity in Education, is delighted to announce the official launch of the new Wales Journal of Education (formerly the University of Wales Journal of Education) on Thursday, 3 March 2016, at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff. Copies of the Journal will be available at the event, alternatively the journal can be subscribed to by visiting the University of Wales Press website.
Rhodri Morgan, former First Minister of Wales, will launch what is the only refereed journal committed to publishing articles that deepen understanding of best practice across education sectors in Wales.
The journal aims to appeal to researchers, policy-makers and practitioners who share the common goal of achieving excellence in education in Wales. The spring 2016 edition will include articles by leading educationalists, including Graham Donaldson, John Furlong, David Egan and David Reynolds, on the key issues that are affecting education in Wales following the nation’s recent Great Debate.
We welcome articles that relate to education in Wales, but also material of a broader significance including comparative studies and international contributions. The journal also includes review articles particularly of publications relating to education in Wales. The journal’s special issues programme aims to stimulate debate over significant themes and responses to topics raised by contributors and readers.
