Global Campus
University life kicks off with the whirlwind of the Freshers’ Fayre – an event brimming with energy and the excitement of experiences yet to come. The University of Wales will be taking its place among the huge showcase of businesses, societies and activities. Our Student Liaison Officers, Ben Gray, Rhys Parry and Hattie Brewster, will be on hand at all our Alliance institutions’ Freshers’ Fayres to offer advice, guidance, support and encouragement to help make the transition to University life as smooth as possible. The Student Liaison Team will also be attending the Freshers’ Fayres of a number of our collaborative centres to assist with their induction events. At each centre they will be distributing leaflets and information about the university as well as getting as many students as possible to register for the Global campus by holding an online competition with an i-pad as its main prize.
Student Liaison Officer, Ben Gray, said:
“Everywhere I have spoken to students they want to see a University of Wales presence in their time as a student, and freshers' fayres are ideal times to get across not only our brand, but more importantly the information about the Bursaries and Scholarships we have on offer. It’s a very busy few weeks, but, if its anything like last year, at the end of it we will have met with over 3,000 students directly and made sure that they have the knowledge to tell their friends about the services we can offer them.”
