Documents with notable amendments made for this academic session are listed below. If you are in any doubt as to whether the changes apply to your schemes of study please contact me.
Changes to University of Wales Academic Regulations for session 2010-11
Academic Regulations
Inclusion of Merit threshold of 60% to 69% for Foundation Certificates and Degrees (Pages 3, 6). All exam boards taking place in 2010-11 will be able to award a Merit.
Change on paragraph 4 for foundation certificates (page 3) and paragraph 7 for foundation degrees (page 5): candidates failing 20 credits or more at a first attempt will not be eligible for the award of a Distinction overall
Change on Regulations for Foundation degrees paragraph 11(ii ), (page 6) part-time mode of study to last no more than six years.
Change on entry regulations for Master’s Entry Certificate and Diploma Schemes (paragraph 1(i) (p.19)) states now explicitly that candidates shall have at least 120 credits at CQFW Level 5.
Change of title from Institutions to collaborative centres.
Research Degree regulations are now separate from Taught Degrees
Unfair Practice Procedure
Collaborative centres are reminded that they must follow the UW Unfair Practice procedure if any case of unfair practice (plagiarism, collusion, etc) is suspected and should ensure that all staff and students are aware of the process.
