Learning and Assessment
In common with all new and returning students, you are faced with the task of learning . You then have to show that you have learned what is required by completing assessments . Success in both of these means success in your course.
There are a number of key skills that you have to master in order to succeed in your course, and these include:
-
LEARNING - finding the style that is most efficient and suits you
-
PASSING ASSESSMENTS - whether they are examinations, assignments, multiple choice questions or vivas
-
WRITING YOUR DISSERTATION/THESIS - presenting it in a true academic style
-
ACCESSING AND USING MATERIAL - correct use and referencing of material from books, journals and the web, and how to avoid PLAGIARISM.
You will get help with many of these skills from the academic staff in your institution, but the University of Wales Online Library| has an extensive collection of e-books and links to data bases which are designed to help you.
I hope you enjoy your course,
