This week saw the visit from the Quality Assurance Agency or ‘QAA’ as it is known to many. They are the auditors of the Higher Education world, visiting all Universities within the UK to ensure that standards are being maintained and that promises made at the last review, usually five years ago, were acted upon and the students as a result are getting improved engagement and involvement with their universities activities.
To discuss the student experience, students from a variety of courses, years of study and institutions came to Cardiff to talk about their experience with the QAA.
It was also an opportunity for students from our various centres to meet each other and socialise, though not in the formal meeting of course.
Team meetings took place, so that we, the Student Liaison team, could discuss our ideas and projects so far; it’s an opportunity for the three of us to put our heads together and create brilliance, or at least what we hope will be brilliant.
Did you receive a handbook when starting your course? Can you remember what was included? Rhys and I have been putting our heads together with members of staff from the Validation unit to filter exactly what students want to know and how to present it.
