November 1st

Trinity St David has become my favoured Institution this week, with two visits taking place, once to attend their Research Degree Board equivalent, and again to meet with the Mature and post graduate students committee.

The opportunity for me to talk with a selection of students from across the subject and study year spectrum was arranged by a member. Finding out what is needed generically by research students studying on the Lampeter Campus makes possible my planning for research student specific events; I am taking your ideas and acting upon them.

I am about half way through visiting each institution that provides research programmes to our students. I am taking ideas from students everywhere I go - if you’ve any suggestions for the Student Liaison team, things we could do to improve your experience, please email us at:|Studentenquirieswales.ac.uk|

The Oxford Centre of Mission Studies also welcomed me to join a student’s forum this week. Their campus is a converted church which has a large open meeting space and private study areas around the edges, with a large enclosed seminar room at the far end and immense stained glass windows creating patches of colour upon the floor. The meeting discussed many things, from accommodation, course layout and content, as well as raising ideas of what they would like to see from the University of Wales, such as purchasing University of Wales merchandise. Alongside our shop in Cardiff you can now also buy things online, visit this website to have a look: https://www.wales.ac.uk/Shop/|

See you next week. |
