December 20th
Well a white Christmas looks set to be on its way.
What a week, with the ending being five inches of snow, I would like to advise you that cycling in the snow is a lot harder than it looks.
The highlight of this week was attending the post graduates conference in Newport. A well laid out day of students presenting their work with use of power point and posters, from the similarities between Wales and Greenland, not just in Culture, but politics too. Over the lunch break there was a poster display to provide an alternative to present theory’s and discoveries in a less formal environment.
Attending the event was exceptionally useful. Making notes throughout with intention to apply aspects to the University of Wales conference, the event in Newport provided proof that when you can apply good presentation skills to your work, the topic is not a problem as you will capture the audience’s attention.
The fun bit for the term is over, all the visits have taken place and now is the time to produce the report, with all the notes taken from each of the meetings and all of your comments included, in the New Year a report will be presented to the University of Wales Research Degree Board with the current impressions of what being a University of Wales Student is all about with your suggestions on how to improve the experience.
Have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Speak to you in the new year.
