Freshers' Fayres = Craving for Parma Violets
Freshers’ Fayres = Craving for Parma Violets
Our Freshers’ Fayre adventure for 2010 got underway this week, starting at the University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC). Ben, Hattie and I were accompanied by Helen Waterhouse who also works in the Academic department of UW.
The start of Freshers’ Fayres means one thing... FREEBIES!! Although, quite often freebies are accompanied with ‘Party Mix’ sweets, which mean the start of my desire for the little purple, sugar tablets - Parma Violets. They get me every time!
This was also our first opportunity to advertise our new competition, which took the form of a University of Wales Scratch card. Our aim is to improve our engagement with students, make them more aware of us and to highlight the online resources we have available along with the other support mechanisms UW provides. We hoped that this method of advertising would be most effective with students.
We were also pleased with the position of our stand at the fair... right next to the Domino’s stand. What a delightful smell, but a much better taste! There’s nothing like a free slice of Pizza!
