Beach Balls and Student Noise
Beach Balls and Student Noise.
Hi guys,
I had my first shopping experience at ‘Costco’ this week with Hattie. It was a good trip; we bought lots of freebies and competition prizes for the Freshers’ Fayres and induction week visits- could you be the winner? On a personal note, I can’t believe how big one slice of pizza can be! I don’t know what I was thinking when I ordered two slices. However this was nothing compared to the 16-slice cheesecake Ben almost had us purchase
At the end of the week I got involved in the committee meeting training event facilitated by Ben for the benefit of the students that will be representatives on UW committees. It was a great, upbeat training day, which I personally found positive as I met students from two London Collaborative centres. It started with a game of beach ball, progressed to group work and concluded with individual presentations.
I had discussions with representatives of the Collaborative centres who have helped me to distinguish what information I require to obtain from my initial meetings at the London Collaborative centres. I have found that with my newly developed London Student Network structure (which is not finalised), I may be able to provide a synergy of systems already in place at Collaborative centres with emerging quality themes of the University.
Next week, I will be reporting on my first journey of the new academic year, to Llandrillo College in North Wales to visit UW students during their induction week.
