As part of the Wales and the French Revolution series, this anthology presents a selection of poetry and prose published in the annual Welsh almanacs, the English provincial newspapers published close to Wales’s border and the three radical Welsh periodicals of the mid-1790s. All Welsh texts are translated, makings them accessible to an English-speaking audience for the first time.
This selection of texts helps the reader place the voices and opinions from Wales within the British political context, yet it allows them to write their own history of this momentous decade in Wales.
