The Wales Centre for Advanced Batch Manufacturing (CBM) is a new initiative that has been jointly established by the University of Wales and University of Wales Trinity St David. CBM’s research and development activities are centred on the creative application of advanced technologies and techniques across a wide range of manufacturing sectors including automotive, aerospace, medical engineering and craft sectors.

CBM has established 3 PhD studentships to undertake applied research in the application of new materials and processes in the following areas: 
   •  New approaches to small batch manufacture;
   •  Modelling medical products;
   •  Application of advanced manufacturing technologies to the
       design and development of craft based products.
