The Catering Manager/Head Chef will be responsible for the day-to-day smooth running of the Catering Operations. A major function within this role is the management of resources both human and physical and the establishment and implementation of service standards and procedures, with an interest in developing a growing banqueting/ fine dining experience.

The successful applicant will have flair and creativity in food production with strong financial acumen, an ability to cost menus and work to budget, with an exemplary knowledge of food hygiene/ best practice.

Research Fellow in Welsh place-name study, Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies

The Centre for Advanced Welsh and Celtic Studies (CAWCS), a dedicated research institute with an international reputation, invites applications for a two-year full-time post available from 1 August 2016. The post is funded by the Leverhulme Trust and based at CAWCS in Aberystwyth.

The Research Fellow will join an innovative project, Flood and Flow: Place-Names and the Changing Hydrology of River-Systems. The project aims to use place-name evidence across England and Wales as a starting-point for studying river flooding and water/land management in the medieval period.

CBM is an exciting new initiative that has been jointly established by the University of Wales and University of Wales Trinity Saint David. CBM is a manufacturing and research facility centred on the creative application of advanced technologies and techniques across a wide range of manufacturing sectors including aerospace, medical engineering and craft sectors. 

CBM is offering fully-funded PhD studentships to undertake applied research in the following areas:
 • Finite Element Analysis for the validation of next-generation additive-manufactured products;
 • Design optimisation of medical products using 3D scanning technology;
 • Application of Advanced Manufacturing Technologies to the craft sector;
 • Development of Electron Beam Melting technology for safety-critical aerospace components;
 • Evaluation of advanced materials for additive-manufactured medical implants
